MORE TRIFLORA NEWS

 

	To all the Big Ships sailing on the Perfumed Sea. Don’t forget that the Leaf and Seed Ships are on the water too and they are MUCH smaller than you are. Please keep your eyes open and take good care of the little ones.
	To the TRIFLORA CHOIR. Our next meeting is on Wednesday Night at half past seven at Poppy’s Place. We will be singing the song called: THE OLD MAN IN LEATHER. Bring your best singing voice with you.
	Old Donna Dee is out and about again. She was at Poppy’s Place this morning and she was just as cranky as ever. Poppy was very pleased to see her because she knows that Old Donna Dee is not really nasty. She just aches in her back and is very old. That’s why she gets cranky. She is 522 years old now and just wants someplace comfortable to sit.
	THE MUSIC WE have a visitor in the Garden. He has come from the World Up Top to stay for a little while. He has an instrument with only one string. Remember that if the MUSIC ever stops, then something terrible will happen.  We are always happy to have a Musical Visitor to keep the Terrible Things quiet and this Visitor walks around of an evening and plays outside all the walls of Triflora.
The IMPCHKINS have had enough of Brian Bear.	BEARS AND HONEY. Brian Bear and Fred Fox are in a bit of trouble. Brian has been back in the Impchkins’ Forest again and gobbling up their honey as fast as he can. The Impchkins have asked him not to gobble the honey. The Impchkins have told Nana and Poppy about it. But Brian smells that honey and just plain goes crazy.
We have come to help fight the trouble ! Gloriana and the Turtle Army. ( I think that one day we will need the Turtle Army.)	TURTLE ARMY. Gloriana was laughing when she came into Poppy’s Place yesterday. She had been down at the edge of the Perfumed Sea collecting shells when out of the water came hundreds and hundred of turtles.  She was very surprised and asked them what they were doing. The first turtle told her that they were the Turtle Army. They had come to help fight the Trouble that was starting when Nana and Izzy were away at the Purple Haze Retirement Village. The Turtle Army moved so slowly that by the time they reached the beach, Nana and Izzy had already been back for weeks and weeks and Trouble was back in hiding.
HAS ANYONE SEEN MOTHER RABBIT ? Mother said she was going out for a little while and told Baby Rabbit to wait in the nest for her but she hasn’t come home yet. Has anyone seen her ?	FAIRY GATHERING. FRIDAY AT MIDNIGHT.

THE BABY IN THE BASKET

If you read the TRIFLORA NEWS this week, then you know about the man throwing the basket off the stone bridge.

We found out just last night that there was a baby in the basket but NOT an ordinary baby – a Seashellian baby.

All week, we thought the Man was up to something strange and if we had known that it was a baby he had thrown off the bridge – well – it would have been a very bad thing indeed. Now that Baby Jacques is living with Nerissa,we have asked him a question or two but he is still very little and can’t talk very much so we do not know the whole story yet.

We do know that he can breathe on land AND underwater just like Nerissa.

We do know that he has little gills up near his ears.

We don’t know who the man was.

We don’t know why the man threw him off the stone bridge in his basket.

One thing we DO know is that Baby Jacques laughs a lot and is a rascal. He runs and swims and plays tricks. We call him B.J. Baby Jacques.

NERISSA AND THE BASKET

Ellen NAME: Nerissa Ellen Marina SPECIAL POWERS: Can live on land and underwater BEST QUALITY: Trusting WORST HABIT: Forgetting that not everyone has gills WHERE YOU LIVE: In the well JOB IN TRIFLORA: Protect the water	The hunt for the basket that was thrown off the bridge has been going on for 5 days now. The Keepers have been looking. Nana and her Friends have been looking. The Birds have been looking. The Sailors and the Pirates have been looking. All the Water People and Creatures have been looking but nothing had been found till this morning.
“Nerissa! Nerissa! There is a baby in the river!”	Funny how things work out ! Not one of the Searchers found anything at all. Nerissa, who is Protector of the Water, could not think of one more thing to do. Boy, was she surprised to hear two voices calling to her. She knew THOSE voices. It was the Owl and the Pussycat.  (I will tell you more about them one day.) The Owl and the Pussycat have great plans for sailing off in their Pea Green Boat. They have been training for a very long time. Sometimes they simply row around in circles but today they actually set sail and were practically flying down the river when KABOOMPH ! The pea green boat hit a barrel floating in the water. It gave them quite a shock but it was more of a shock to see a little baby boy bounce off the top of it and into the river. They looked and looked through their binoculars. They could see a little island but they could not see a little boy.
Nerissa’s Home.	Nerissa could hear them but she wasn’t in any kind of a hurry. Nerissa doesn’t have many things wrong with her. She can live in land or underwater. Her home is in the well at the edge of the River and she loves to sleep right down at the bottom under the water. Nerissa trusts People and trusts that “everything will be O.K.” She protects the water and everything in the water and on the water. The one thing that can be a bit of a problem with Nerissa is that she just plain forgets that most people don’t have gills.
“ Nerissa ! Nerissa ! It’s a Baby ! It does NOT have gills! It cannot breathe underwater ! “	Gills are the things which let Merpeople and Fishes breathe under the water. She forgets that most people will DROWN if they stay underwater for more than 2 minutes because most people do not have gills. So, Nerissa was not in a hurry at all – but the Owl and the Pussycat were in ONE BIG HURRY. Owls and Pussycats do not have gills and they cannot breathe underwater. The Owl and the Pussycat knew that the Baby Boy was in Big Trouble.
“I do be home, Nerissa !”	When Nerissa heard the Owl and the Pussycat coming up her steps and yelling out as loudly as they possibly could – she realised straight away that it was an EMERGENCY and dived down her well and was about to swim out into the river when an amazing thing happened. A Baby Boy with came riding in on the back of a shark. It was NOT a MerBaby. MerPeople have tails like fish. And he was not in any kind of danger at all. It was a Baby with legs. He was smiling at Nerissa laughing out loud. Nerissa was very excited. She had been NEVER met another SeaShellian in her whole life. Someone who could live on the land AND under the water.  Now, here was this Baby Boy and it looked like he was going to stay.

Nerissa sent the Owl and the Pussycat back to Nana to tell everyone what had happened.  Then she started to ask the little fellow a LOT of questions, but he just wrapped his arms around her and fell asleep. All the questions can wait until tomorrow.	One more thing – when she asked him his name, he didn’t tell her but he did whisper these words to her “ I have a sister.”

	They used to call me a  Dawdling No-Hoper. Well, let me tell you – Dawdling No-Hopers see a LOT of things. There are some things you only see if you walk ever so slowly and take time for little rests. I have a Starwagon for when I need to travel fast and far. Now, what news do I have for this week?
First up this week is a word to all the children with bows and  arrows.  BE CAREFUL. I saw Ferdinand down in the Rose Orchard and he was shooting arrows all over the place. The Robin  gave him a good talking to because he scared all the birds and I gave him a good talking to – but when I looked around he was STILL shooting arrows – all over the place. I KNOW you would never shoot your arrows all over the place.
ROCK MOVE. FRIDAY MORNING. SEE YOU THERE.	Next Friday, Stone Mountain is having a Rock Move. The last time that the Dragonness roared, she roared so loudly that 57 rocks tumbled down the hill and blocked the path into Stone Mountain Village. The Stone People have tried everything to move them – but – as you know – they are very little people. If you can help them move the Rocks come along on Friday Morning.  We might even be able to  build a new stone house with the rocks we move.

Ferdinand has been firing arrows all over the place. Take good care when you are flying near  the Rose Orchard. 2. A man was seen throwing a basket from the top of the stone bridge near Nana and Izzy’s Towers.  We do not know what was in the basket.  Everyone is looking for it.

THE TRIFLORA NEWS	From Nana and her Friends.
WHY IS THE WOLF SO THIN ?	You don’t  often see a hungry wolf in Triflora. You don’t often see anything or anyone hungry down there in the Garden. We have plenty of food. BUT The day before yesterday, a very thin wolf found its way into one of the houses and scared the pants off the people who live there. Noone has a key in Triflora and unless Trouble is coming, we don’t  have too much to worry about locking anything up at all .
	Delroy and Ethelred are very good friends. Delroy is one very strong man.  Ethelred is one very helpful man. Delroy does sometimes wonder what help Ethelred actually is.  He certainly doesn’t carry anything very heavy. Delroy doesn’t really mind because Ethelred is a very good friend.

	The Milk in Triflora is always fresh. Fresh and straight from the Cows. I was walking past the milking shed the other day when I heard a BANG and a BASH. When I looked in the door, Arabella was on the ground. Her stool had been knocked over and her bucket of milk was spilt all over the place. Bettina, the cow, says that she didn’t do it but she looks very suspicious to me.
CLIFTON IS A VERY BRAVE Mouseling.	I walked on and left them to it. Arabella will know just what to do. She has been milking cows for 1223 years. _____________________ Just past the Milking Shed is Mousely. The Mice like to live near the Cows.  I am not quite sure why. The Mouse  People are very tiny and they love to wear fancy clothes just like the Little Ones do. Clifton was looking very well dressed  when I came to the entrance to Mousely and he was riding Deanna who is the most beautiful of all the Mice. He must have been going somewhere SPECIAL.
	I see some interesting things when I am walking around. I see some good things.  I see some things which are bad. Yesterday morning, I saw a very strange thing. A man walked to the top of the little stone bridge near my tower and threw a basket over and into the water.
All the Water People are looking for the basket. I wonder what was in it.	Straight away, I called  Mickey, the AquavespaGirl, to find out what was in the basket but she could not find it. The Man ran off as fast as he could and I have sent Mickey and our Guards after him. ______________________ IF YOU KNOW WHO THE MAN IS AND WHAT WAS IN THE BASKET, PLEASE LET US KNOW IN THE BOX BELOW.

KEEPING AN EYE ON THINGS

Nana and the her friends keep an eye on what’s happening all over Triflora. 

Little old ladies in black and little old men can walk just about anywhere they want and noone notices at all.

Little old ladies in black and little old men with beards and long hair can sit for HOURS on a bench and noone wonders what they are doing.

Little old ladies and little old men can ask very private questions and people tell them exactly what’s going on.

Most people don’t think for one moment that it could be Nana and her Friends.

Most people don’t think for one moment that each little old lady and each little old man has a special magic power – as well as a mobile phone and a tiny computer.

You can hide a lot of good things in all those black clothes.

Come for a little look around Triflora with Nana and her Friends.

THE DRAGON PEOPLE.

The Rose is not the only one taking care of the Dragons. Most of them live in the Castle on top of the Caverns and ALL of them have a Dragon somewhere on the clothes or their jewellery . ALL of them have at least one Dragon tattoo.

Dragon People have one more secret as well but I have never been able to find out what it is. I do believe that ONLY Dragon People can ever know that secret.

THE KINGFISHER

 

Sometimes, people and creatures accidentally find their way into Triflora. That’s what happened with the beautiful King of the Kingfishers. He was not trying to get into the Fairy Garden at all.  He was just following Saffron because he LOVED her red hair. When she went up to the Big Fig Tree in Bellingen and whispered Triflora, the King of the Kingfishers did not know that she was calling to Rose and Poppy. Saffron did everything right. She looked to her left. She looked to her right.  She looked all around before she pointed to the secret entrance and whispered Triflora. She even had Nana and Mumma with her.

They didn’t see any people. They didn’t see any Trouble. They didn’t see anything following them. But the King of the Kingfishers was right there. Tiny. The King was very surprised to see them all disappear right inside the Big Fig Tree.

It gave the King such a shock that he flew straight into the hard trunk of the tree and dropped unconscious to the ground.  When he lifted up his head, the door to Triflora was still open – just a little – and the King ducked in without thinking. The next thing he knew he was being whirled and swirled  and all his molecules were rearranged till he was one tiny little bird in the middle of Triflora.

Now, this caused a real panic in Triflora.

I shall tell you why, later.

In the Meantime, a call was sent out for jenny Wren to come as soon as she could !

SITTING AROUND IN TRIFLORA : PART 3.

There is always MUSIC and DANCING at POPPY’S PLACE.

Poppy’s Place is the Number One Place to meet up and sit around in the whole of Triflora. It started as just a little stall selling bits and pieces. Poppy and Rose and Saffron started it one day at Nana and Izzy’s House. Just selling bits and pieces. As I told you – noone uses money.  Just Love and Magic and Good Thinking.

When they discovered Triflora, well, they knew just what to do.  Rose was VERY busy with her Dragons and Saffron is still a bit young so Poppy became the Shopkeeper and the others help when they can.

Before Poppy’s Place, people had to hunt all over the Triflora when they wanted or needed anything. If they had things to give away, like extra fruit or clothes they didn’t need anymore, they had nowhere to take them. 

It’s not like that now. POPPY’S PLACE is just the very best spot to go. It has grown and grown and it brings an extra bundle of happiness into the Garden.

POPPY’S PLACE.

Nana and Izzy do most of the sitting around. You can come talk to them almost any time unless they are up in the towers or out adventuring. ( And of course, there was that time that they went missing at the PURPLE HAZE RETIREMENT VILLAGE. ) Almost always, you can come sit down and have a talk. Here are some of their stories. When you have a shop in Triflora, there is only one thing to do :

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED.

One night, this little man came calling at the Door. He is NOT one of the Little Ones. Noone knows who he is. He is NOT  a wizard.  He flew down. None of us saw him walk. He wanted a new pair of pants. And he stretched his hands out.  They had to be THAT long. Luckily, Poppy had just the right pair.
OFF TO BED YOU TWO. SWEET DREAMS.	One little girl came to live in the shop. She didn’t say she was g0ing to live there. She just came to the door. She didn’t even tinkle the bell curtain in the doorway. People were sitting around talking and noone even noticed her. She had a very sad face and she carried a cleaning rag. She cleaned the front step and then she cleaned the windows. Mr Wallace and Mr Starr were sitting inside drinking frangipani ale. Willie was watching from behind the counter. The girl cleaned each bell on the curtain – one by one – without making a single sound. Not one person said one word. They didn’t want to frighten her. She began to clean the floor of the shop.  Bump ! The little girl backed into a chair. She turned around and sitting right there on that chair was the beautiful doll that Mr Wallace and Mr Starr had br0ught in. The doll’s eyes were just as sad as the little girl’s until they saw one another. I will not tell you anymore about them just yet. I will just tell you that the girl lives here in the Shop and the doll lives here in the Shop and their eyes are  not sad anymore. ( The little girl’s name is Gosette and the doll’s name is Lucinda. )
Cats are not welcome at the Shop when Nana is there. You know that. The other thing she won’t have around are DRAGONS. She likes Dragons. She knows that Dragons have their uses. But she will not have them near the Shop. She soon sends them skedaddling back to Rose and to their own place.

Don’t feel too sorry for the Dragons. I will show you a  Photo of Dragonville. Not bad at all !

DON’T FORGET – POPPY IS ALSO THE DETECTIVE. SHE SEES AND HEARS A LOT OF THINGS IN THE SHOP. DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE.

SITTING AROUND IN TRIFLORA : PART 2.

Sitting around in Triflora is not quite the same as sitting around at your house. At Poppy’s Place, all kinds of different things happen from time to time.

ALWAYS check your teacup BEFORE you pour the hot tea in.  Little Leroy thinks teacups are the BEST place to sleep and unless Mickey has been around making a lot of AquaVespa noise, he just might still be in there- sound asleep.

We do not want to pour boiling hot tea on Little Leroy.

Lots of little people come to  Poppy’s Place.  Leroy is the only one who sleeps in the Cups and Nana enjoys the visits from the Little Ones. It makes her feel quite tall.

Poppy’s Place is a very relaxed place to be but the Little Ones have strange ideas about Relaxing. They NEVER come to Poppy’s Place unless they are dressed in their very best clothes. I think they are extremely old-fashioned but I would never tell them that. Their feelings get hurt so easily!

In Triflora, many small beings live in many different places but the Little Ones ( with a capital L and a capital O) are not just small – they are THE Little Ones. They dance at Poppy’s and they choose things very carefully from the shop. They TALK with people but they do not CHAT. The Little Ones come shopping at the same time on the same day every week. They always say Please and they always say Thank You. 

I have not been to the Land of the Little Ones. I don’t think anyone else has been there either.

I wonder whether they relax when they get home. Hmmmmm.

( Except, of course, for Little Leroy who relaxes all the time and is almost never polite. )

POPPY BRINGING IN VEGETABLES FROM HER GARDEN FOR THE SHOP.

Sometimes, when Trouble is keeping quiet,  Nana sits on a bench at the front of Poppy’s  Place and the people of Triflora come by for a chat. Why don’t you sit down with us now and I shall tell you a little bit more about some of them ?

Strangely enough, Nana does NOT like cats. Its strange because she spends about half her time as a Witch and Witches are SUPPOSED to like cats.

But Nana does not like them.

So when Nana is minding the Shop for Poppy, she will NOT have cats coming to visit – except for LEOX. That’s Leox over there and if you think he is a Lion – you are right. Its probably the only type of Cat that Nana does like.  Leox sits for hours and hours while everyone is having a chat. Leox has a few secrets of his own. Only Leox and Nana know what they are.

Most of the time its quiet and peaceful at Poppy’s Place – specially when Nana is minding the Shop – but when Mickey has had 3 glasses of Blue Water from the South, she ALWAYS decides to take a ride on her AquaVespa.

That’s the end of the quiet !

Mickey is very good at making sure Trouble stays quiet but she makes plenty of noise herself.

VROOM. VROOM. VROOM.

I do not know what is in that Blue Water from the South and I am NOT going to try it because it sure sends her wild. Poppy keeps it hidden in a box under the shop counter and sells it to some of the Triflora People but nobody tells Nana.

NAME:  Jenny Wren (also known as Jennifer Jane Whoops)
SPECIAL POWERS:  Is especially good at healing ouchies by touch. Can talk to dogs and birdies.
BEST QUALITY:  Laughs a lot and loves to dance.
WORST HABIT:  Is very clumsy… and has to sleep after healing ouchies
WHERE YOU LIVE:  In a cave by the river, where the light reflects off the magic waters and everything sparkles in silver
JOB IN TRIFLORA:  I haven’t quite come up with this yet. Let me know if you have any ideas.  Well, I think Jenny will be our Healer.

Triflora might not be quite like the World Up Top. In fact, it is nothing like the World up Top. Except that some people are just the same when  it comes to being stubborn. Nana has spoke to Jenny Wren 1000 times or more about her Thongs.

It wouldn’t matter at all if only Jenny was not SO clumsy. Nana tells her :  Jenny. Fairies can go barefoot. Fairies can wear wonderful shoes that fit perfectly. But Fairies CANNOT wear thongs.

Its very hard to get angry with Jenny. ( Her real name is JENNIFER JANE WHOOPS) Its very hard to get angry with her because she is simply SOOOOOO kind. She can fix anything that hurts – all the ouchies.  Birds and Dogs love her. All the little people love her and the sick creatures come to her cave because they KNOW she will look after them.

She doesn’t have normal fairy wings. She changes into whatever bird she needs to be – anytime she wants.

I shall tell you a secret and you must not tell anyone at all except for your 2 best friends. One time, not very long ago, Jenny heard that a special Auntie was very very ill. All her hair was falling out. and Jenny said straight away:  I shall cut off all my hair and make it into a magic wig and then she will look beautiful and her head will not hurt her anymore.

That is just one of the good things I could tell you about Jennifer.

In fact, just about the only bad things about her are THE THONGS.

And – the THONGS would not matter at all if only she weren’t so CLUMSY.

That’s where Nana comes into it :  Jennifer Wren. You fly like a bird. You can heal Ouchies with the touch of your fingertips – BUT  do NOT keep trying to walk and dance in THOSE THONGS. 

Just about then, Jennifer Jane takes herself off to bed and goes soundly to sleep. Goodnight, Jenny Wren.

SPECIAL POWERS: SHE CAN SPEAK THE LANGUAGE OF ANYTHING OR ANYONE SHE MEETS AND THEY CAN UNDERSTAND HER.

BEST QUALITY:  SHE HAS MAGIC CUDDLES AND KISSES.

WORST HABIT:  SHE KNOCKS AND KNOCKS AND KNOCKS AT YOUR DOOR UNTIL YOU LET HER IN.

WHERE SHE LIVES: SAFFRON LIVES INSIDE A GOLDEN SAFFRON FLOWER.

JOB IN THE GARDEN: SHE IS THE LAUGHMAKER. SHE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY. And she has the magic watering can for the Crocus Flowers.

When it comes to understanding people, SAFFRON is the one. She is still a very little girl but she has been able to understand all kinds of people and creatures since the very moment she was created. She speaks just about every language that ever was or ever will be. And she knows exactly how to make other fairies laugh. She is the Laugh Maker and even very angry and very bad  beings just start to smile when she comes along. Next thing they know they are smiling and chuckling and giggling. Sometimes, Saffron brings them Laughter which spreads through the whole of Triflora and ruffles the water and just about causes earthquakes.

Saffron likes to JUMP and RUN and SWIM. She’s not even scared of leeches or snakes. The Member of the TSS ( Triflora Secret Society) keep a lookout because Saffron loves to go away “ ALL MY BYSELF ”.  Which means “ALL BY MYSELF.” EVERYONE watches out for her because we KNOW she will go exploring and making strange friends and she is still very, very young.

Mostly, there is nothing  in Triflora that would hurt her – but we do know that TROUBLE has come to Triflora. We don’t want Trouble to find Saffron and we don’t want Saffron to find Trouble.

AND of course, being able to understand almost everyone and EVERYTHING means that Saffron has some UNUSUAL friends.

I have told you that there is more to POPPY than meets the eye.

There is also more to her shop than meets the eye.

The reason for this is that Poppy is not JUST a ShopKeeper. She is the No. 1. Detective in the whole of Triflora.  Every time you see a Fairy Shop and think , “ Oh. That’s just a Fairy Shop.” THINK AGAIN.  Some of the Fairy Shops are part of Poppy’s Detective Agency. Just look for this sign  and you will know that you are in one of the Triflora Detective Stores.

If you need help, you will find it in a shop with the TOFS sign.

If you have a secret you need to tell someone, tell it to someone in a TOFS shop.

If you have noticed something strange or seen something bad, just look for the TOFS sign.

Poppy has a lot of talent. Talent means that there are a LOT of things that she can do. Most of it just comes naturally to her.  Her Talents make her a very good Shopkeeper and they make her the very BEST Detective.

One talent she has, which you don’t see very often, is SHAPESHIFTING.

Shapeshifting means that she can appear in different shapes.

Shapeshifting is very handy, indeed. Especially for a Detective.

Another talent of Poppy’s is that she is very intelligent. She thinks and thinks . She can tell when something strange is going on and that’s when she REALLY starts to think. Her favourite place for thinking is in her Shop. She stands at the counter and lets her mind tick, tick, tick till she has an idea. She doesn’t have to worry about the Shop because she NEVER uses money. Not ever. When I said that she buys and sells things, I should have explained. She buys and sells with only Magic and Love.  Poppy would NEVER tell someone that they couldn’t have something, just because they didn’t have enough money. That means she can stand at the Counter and use her Thinking Talent because she does not need to think about Money.

Once, when all of Saffron’s Gelato Ice Cream had disappeared, Poppy stood at the Counter for one whole day – thinking. She sent her Detectives out and about to look for the Gelato and for clues. Saffron sat on the counter and watched her carefully : “ Do you have an idea, Poppy ?” 

When her detectives came back, she listened to what they had to say and then she chose the Shape she wanted to shift into and went out into the Garden to look about. That’s because she did such good thinking before she went out.

Here is the way the Poppy did her thinking.

1. Saffron’s gelato is gone.

2. Who loves Gelato more than anyone in the Garden? Aha – the Snow Fairy.

3.  Who can find the Snow Fairy ?  Aha – the Snow Goose.

4. I shall fly into the Land of the Snow Fairy and see what I can see.

Off she went, flying in the slow strong way that Snow Geese fly, with Saffron riding on her feathery back. As she came closer to the Land of the Snow Fairy, Poppy began to laugh. Instead of white, white and white of the Snow – all the frozen land was COLOURFUL. All the colours of Gelato.

“Well”, said Poppy to the Snow Fairy, who looked most embarrassed. “Is it your birthday?”

Everyone started to laugh and laugh and laugh. The Snow Fairy loved Gelato so much that she had stolen ALL of the ice cream in Triflora for her birthday  and then spread it all over her land instead of the white, white snow.  Pretty soon they were all rolling round and round in Gelato and eating it at the same time.

BEST QUALITY:  SHE MAKES PEOPLE FEEL PERFECTLY HAPPY.

WORST HABIT:  VOMITING WHEN SHE’S FLYING.

WHERE THEY LIVE: SHE LIVES BEHIND THE BELL CURTAIN IN THE GARDEN SHOP.

JOB IN THE GARDEN:  POPPY HAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SHOP IN THE GARDEN. SHE SELLS ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING.

POPPY is a rather interesting character.  She is the Shopkeeper in Triflora. 

It SEEMS like that is all she does.

She makes beautiful things.

She buys and sells beautiful things.

She makes people happy as easily as dancing on moonbeams.

BUT – when you look a little bit closer and when you think about what you see, then things become a little more mysterious.

As they say “ THERE IS MORE TO POPPY THAN MEETS THE EYE.”

ROSE AND HER DRAGONS

BEST QUALITY:  HER MAGICAL SINGING AND DANCING.

WORST HABIT:  FAINTING.

WHERE THEY LIVE: ROSE HAS A BEDROOM IN THE DRAGONS’ CAVERNS.

JOB IN THE GARDEN:  SHE IS THE KEEPER OF THE DRAGONS AND THE DRAGON CAVES.”

Rose has been taking care of Dragons ever since she came to Triflora. Some people say that shw was hatched from a Dragon’s Egg. She certainly knows what to do with Dragons. She loves them and they love her.

The Keeper of the Caverns is so old that he only breathes smoke these days and he is HUGE. He’s been guarding the Caverns for such a long time that people say he looks more like a Gargoyle than a Dragon. He doesn’t worry Rose for one dragon’s breath of time. HIs name is  Lubenrut and he has taken care of the Rose since she was tiny.

Other little ones loved doves and kittens. The Rose quite liked doves and kittens. She was always kind to them but Baby Dragons were what she REALLY loved.

It was rather worrying for Rose’s Mother to have a Dragon Girl for a daughter.The first time that she looked up and saw her little girl riding high above her head on a large blue dragon and throwing flowers down on all below – well that was rather disturbing.

Then again, it is Triflora and children do very strange things in Triflora. Rose is , of course, no longer a little girl. She is an expert now and lives in her own room in the Dragon Caverns.

Just past the Retired Witches’ Home is a forest. It grows right down to the Lake of M. I call it a Forest and it does have trees and animals. It has, however, grown mostly from the Dribbling Magic running out from under the Witches Home. I truly do not trust their sewage system. Every time an old witch flushes her toilet, strange things happen. Especially in the Forest. It’s known as the Disenchanted Forest.

Some of the Music that comes from that Forest is a little unusual and bananas seem to matter a LOT in there. I have managed to sneak out a couple of films and some photographs to show you just a hint of what its like.

 

Remember : be very careful anywhere near the Old Witches unless you fancy something very odd happening to you.

Welcome to Ev.

Ev is our next new Member. He is a wonderful person to have in Triflora. He can paddle any kind of canoe or Kayak and know ALL the magic lagoons and rivers. He is also in charge of Nana’s special vehicle, Alfie. He polishes it and keeps it running perfectly.

Ev is kind and clever and Trilfora is very happy to have him come and live there.
